How to paste?

#10431Anna Lowenstein @ 02/21/10 10:44 AM
This is great fun! A lot quicker than actually stitching the pattern!
But I have a problem - I can't work out how to shift something I've pasted. I manage to copy the area I want, and when I do "paste" it appears in the top left hand corner. OK. But when I try to move it, it stretches all over the page. I can't work out how to simply shift it to the place I want without it stretching and distorting.

When you paste a selected pattern, yes it is going to be put on the top left corner, with the pattern surrounded with a dotted line.
And, if you move the mouse over the area, the mouse pointer should turn to cross arrow shape. Then, you should be able to drag the pattern using left mouse button and to put anywhere in the pattern.

But when I try to move it, it stretches all over the page.

I'm not sure what you mean... the pasted pattern covers entire chart when you drag the selection?

Yes, I can manage it now. I think what I was doing wrong was that I was trying to pull it by the corners instead of clicking on the middle.
I didn't mean that it was stretching literally all over the page, but it was definitely stretching!
By the way, I see you're Keiji who created this software (at least, your name appears at the beginning when it opens.) Thanks very much for creating such a useful tool, and for providing it free!
