Is there a menu option to switch between Japanese and English? The program is showing up in Japanese and I can't find an option to switch to English in the menus. (I also can't change any settings on the computer.)
There is no UI for changing the menu language. However, you can change that by a start up parameter.
1. Create a shortcut (or just copy the shortcut of the KG-Chart).
2. Then, right click on the shortcut, and select "Property".
3. In the shortcut tab, there is a text box called "Target".
4. Add a string "-L:eng" without the quotation marks at the end.
For example, it will looks like this:
C:\Program Files\iktsoft\KG-Chart\kwls_sth.exe -L:eng
The menu language is based on your computer's non-Unicode language setting, therefore it will automatically select an appropriate language you are using on your system.
When you want to override that, please use the parameter to switch between English and Japanese.
(Use "jpn" if you want to use a Japanese menu)
I would like to change the program's language in English. I tried to do what was explained above, however since my computer is in Japanese, I am having a hard time figuring out how to enter -L:eng into the Target bar.
For example, when I right click on the shortcut and click on Properties, under the ショートカット tab, I see two places where it looks like I can change the target. They are labeled, リンク先and 作業フォルダ. I have tried to enter -L:eng in both of those boxes without the quotation marks, however I get an error message that looks like this:
Hi Anna,
You just need to edit only the "リンク先"(=Target) text box.
Leave the "作業フォルダ"(=Start in) as is - don't edit it.
So, those should look like these:
リンク先(Target:)
"C:\Program Files\iktsoft\KG-Chart LE\kwls_sth_le.exe" -L:eng
作業フォルダ(Start in:)
"C:\Program Files\iktsoft\KG-Chart LE"
The double quotation marks are also important. Don't remove them! (If it's there)
So, how do you like Japan? I'm from Osaka, Japan, and now live in Oregon/Washington. I hope you are enjoying studying there:)
I recently updated, one small thing concerning this.
Can this information be put into the English (and Japanese if not there) readme file for a future version?
It would be helpful for those updating to have this reference on hand when it overwrites the shortcut. :3
Thanks

Right, and I agree. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll update the readme file.
Also, I think I'm going to implement this in an option dialog box so that you can choose the language from there (instead of manually modifying the shortcut) and no need to worry being overwritten by an installer.
